Action-When Rubber Meets the Road. Call-To-Action
Description
The Dallas Muslim community stands at a pivotal moment. Over the past several decades, we have built a vast network of mosques, schools, student organizations, and institutions that represent immense social, economic, and spiritual capital. Yet, despite this infrastructure, our collective power remains underutilized. As weapons manufacturers profit in our own backyard and ICE continues to target our families and neighbors, we are reminded that our community cannot afford to operate in isolation. Our institutions must become spaces not only for worship but for action, centers that equip us to understand, challenge, and transform the political realities around us. This session on Power Mapping and Political Strategy is designed to help our community learn how to identify and leverage its power to create meaningful change. Through interactive political power mapping, participants will analyze who holds influence in Dallas, where decisions are made, and how our community can mobilize its resources to advance justice rooted in Islamic principles. This is not a lecture, it is a collaborative space to learn, plan, and build together. We will explore not just what must be done, but how and why, developing strategies that are informed by faith, guided by purpose, and driven by a shared vision of justice.
